Ghanaian holding company Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation (GIADEC), which handles all government investments and interests in the country's integrated aluminum business, has introduced OPCL as the new majority shareholder of Ghana Bauxite Corporation (GBC) to traditional leaders, chiefs and the Ahwiaso and Sefwi Bekwai people of the Northwest Territories. In March 2022, a 100%-owned Ghanaian company, OPCL, acquired an 80% stake in GBC, previously held by Chinese mining giant Bosai Minerals Group Limited, with the remaining 20% ??owned by the Government of Ghana (GoG).
