ASI Expands Scope of Hydro Aluminium Extruded Solutions

Hydro Aluminium Extruded Solutions has again expanded the scope of their ASI Performance Standard Certification to include seven additional facilities. The expanded scope now includes operations for ingot casting, extrusion, fabrication and surface finishing of aluminium profiles, and manufacture of aluminium tubes at the production sites in Atessa in Italy, Drunen in Netherlands, Feltre in Italy, Ghlin in Belgium, Harderwijk in Netherlands, Ornago in Italy and Raeren in Belgium.

The original certification audit scope covered the Hydro Aluminium Extruded Solutions for the extrusion and fabrication of aluminium profiles at the sites in Bellenberg in Germany, Lichtervelde in Belgium and the corporate office in Norway. The scope was then expanded in September 2019 to include activities at the Hydro Aluminium Extruded Solutions sites Lichtervelde Precision Tubing in Belgium, Toulouse in France, Rackwitz in Germany, Uphusen in Germany and Nenzing in Austria. The total number of ASI Performance Standard Certified Hydro Aluminium Extruded Solutions facilities now totals fifteen.

The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain. It sets out 59 criteria under the three sustainability pillars of Governance, Environment and Social, which address key issues such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples rights, and greenhouse gas emissions. The independent, third-party audits of the Extruded Solutions operations were carried out by DNV GL.
