A00 aluminium ingot price drops again in China despite alumina price rise

The A00 aluminium ingot price in China has once again dropped today, April 26, despite a rise in the alumina spot price, Shanghai Metals Market found. Followed by a rise to 6-months high, the ingot price has declined by RMB 60 per tonne to clock at RMB 14,170 per tonne, as of today. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,150 per tonne and RMB 14,190 per tonne, while the spot aluminium contract is likely to be traded at the same discount of RMB 30 per tonne to a premium of RMB 10 per tonne.
As the decline in aluminium ingot price has touched upon all the major Chinese markets, the price in the south is found sunk by RMB 70 per tonne to RMB 14,180 per tonne while that in the north to the same price after declining by RMB 10 per tonne. The aluminium ingot price in the east (Wuxi and Hangzhou) has also dipped by RMB 60 per tonne and RMB 45 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,150 per tonne and RMB 14,190 per tonne, respectively.
The alumina spot price has recorded a growth yet again, marking the fifth consecutive rise. The price has grown by RMB 9 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,724 per tonne. In the central and north, the alumina price has grown by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 2,730 per tonne and RMB 2,720 per tonne, while in the east the price has pegged at RMB 2,740 per tonne after rising by RMB 20 per tonne. In the south, however, the alumina spot price has shown restraint at RMB 2,710 per tonne.
On the other hand, the prebaked anode price has shown a movement today, but on the down side. It has dropped by RMB 75 per tonne to hover at RMB 3,130 per tonne.
